By booking an appointment at West Therapeutic, you agree to abide by the following policies and protocols.
CANCELLATION
Our Cancellation Policy requires 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. No shows will be charged the full service price.
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
We require that you have all necessary paperwork prior to your appointment. If you are having issues with the forms, please arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment to ensure time to fill out paper forms.
Please arrive 5 minutes early to your appointment to ensure the full session time on the table.
If you are 15 minutes early or would like time to relax and unwind prior to your appointment please let us know and we will direct you to our low stimulation Zen room. Please make sure to arrive with time to spare to use this room.
ARRIVING AT West Therapeutic Healing Center
Fitchburg location is in a shared parking lot of US Cellular and Dragonfly Yoga.
Waunakee location is located on the second level of the building, located within Refresh Skin Spa.
Hand sanitizer will be provided upon request.
A mask is not required for your service. If you feel more comfortable having staff wear a mask throughout your treatment please inform us prior to your service.
Cancellation and No Show Policy
Your appointments are very important to us, it is reserved especially for you, we understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on my waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Appointments are confirmed 72 hours in advance because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked months ago. Since the services are reserved for you personally, a cancellation fee will apply.
-Less than 24 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the reserved service amount.
-“NO SHOWS” will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount, including add-ons.
-Appointments made within the 24 hour period and need to cancel, the client then must cancel within 3 hours of appointment time or will result in a charge equal to 100% of the reserved service amount
The cancellation policy allows us the time to inform our standby guests of any availability, as well as keeping my schedule filled, thus better serving everyone. How long does a therapeutic massage session last?
Our sessions range from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. You are welcome to chose your session length when booking online or through our staff.
What techniques are used in a therapeutic massage?
Our therapists are trained in a variety of modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and myofascial release.
What is our cancellation policy?
As mentioned below, we require 24 hours notice for cancellations to avoid a fee of the full session price. Please understand that this policy is in place to respect our therapists’ time.
Do I need to disrobe entirely for my massage?
To experience the full benefits of the massage, we recommend undressing to your comfort level. Your therapist will step out to let you undress and get on the table, you will be properly draped at all times during the session.
Is there anything I need to do before my therapeutic massage?
To prepare for your massage, we suggest you hydrate well and avoid large meals immediately before the session. Please arrive 5 minutes early to ensure time to communicate beforehand.
When should I arrive for my therapeutic massage?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment to ensure a relaxed start to your experience.
During the massage
What should I expect during my therapeutic massage?
Your therapist will consult with you about what you hope to achieve from the session. You can expect a calm, inviting environment and our therapists will tailor the massage to your needs.
What if I feel uncomfortable during the massage?
Open communication is key. Just let your therapist know if anything feels uncomfortable, whether that’s the temperature in the room, the pressure used, or the music selection.
Is the pressure in a deep tissue massage always intense?
No, deep tissue massage should be intense only to the point where it remains within your comfort level. If the pressure is too much, let your therapist know so they can adjust it.
Can I fall asleep during my massage?
You are welcome to fall asleep throughout your massage session. Our therapists continue their work as normal and will let you know when the session ends with a gentle notice.
Do I have to talk throughout my massage or be silent?
Our therapists like to ensure you feel at ease and comfortable throughout your session. We have a variety of clients who love to talk throughout the session and others who want to be silent. Our therapists allow you to lead the conversation to ensure you can relax. They will occasionally check in with you on pressure.
After the massage
What should I do after my therapeutic massage?
To experience the full benefit of your massage, you should drink plenty of water to help flush out the system of toxins. It will also keep stagnated blood that may have been released during the massage moving.
Is it normal to feel sore after a therapeutic massage?
It is not unusual to feel a little sore the next day after a deep tissue massage, similar to the soreness you would feel after a workout. This should subside within 24-48 hours. Cold compresses and stretching can alleviate post treatment discomfort.
What are the long-term benefits of regular therapeutic massages?
Regular therapeutic massages can help reduce stress, relieve chronic pain, and contribute to overall wellness. They can also improve sleep quality and enhance the immune system.
